Hello, my mother, who has a lot of plants, gave me this pothos. I'm a newbie with plants and from what I've seen the pot is way too big for it. Since she gave it to me like this I'm not sure if I should repot or not, second pic is the mother pothos for reference (it's big and happy).

Looks okay to me as long as you don’t over water, you could size down a little or perhaps just add some perlite for extra drainage
I’d pot down to a 3 inch pot with drainage holes on the bottom. Bonus points if it’s clear with well draining, chunkyish soil.
Leave as is, give light y easy on the H20, also PLEEEASE show that 🪴 some Amor ❤️
I agree with downsizing the pot, the chances of over watering and causing root rot is high.
I’d change to a plastic planter pot and just put it inside a nice cache pot. Makes watering so much easier.
Good soil blend is a must also
