Can any tell my why type of roses these are and when/ how to prune them? I recently got my grandparents house and they always had these rose bushes but never pruned them. I would like to take care of them as it’s something beautiful my grandparents left me with.

what’s your zone? usually depends where you are
Depending on your zone of course. Normally, roses are trimmed while they are dormant. That would be winter but always before the growing season. A part from that, remember to cut over a composed leaf formed by 5 leaves. This will ensure that you will get flowers from that stem. If you cut over a 3 leaves leaf, if will not flower from there.
