I’ve recently added more soil and cut from the longer string and put it on the top. I’ve tried it before but the strings always died I’ve only really had one good string. The new string is looking strong though since I added the soil. I’m wondering if she doesn’t get enough light. What can I do to make her prosper. I water her when the soil is dry. She’s not directly near a window but she has been in the past. Also what is this called.

Probably more light. I’ve had better luck propagating strings in water, just make sure there’s a node.

I can’t propagate these at all either way! Mine that I repotted and put into two pots, one is doing ok and the other is not. The one that is not 5 or 6 of the strings broke during the process and I just noticed it tonight. I’m bummed, so bummed. But one is doing great, the variegated one is still nice and seemingly healthy. She’ll be the only one to not make it through spring. All the others in my 60+ collection are thriving!!!
