This is my first hoya (I can't remember the exact type), and it's about to bloom for the first time! I'm so excited, but I'm actually going away in less than two weeks (May 3-9). Does anyone think it'll fully bloom before then? Or will the blooms last long enough for me to still see them? Someone will be watching our apartment, so they can definitely send me pictures, but I really want to smell it too! If anyone has any insight, I'd really appreciate it. I kind of want to mentally prepare myself if it's likely I'll miss it lol.

Edit: yay!! Thank you all for the reassuring knowledge, I can't wait to see it in a few days!

These look ready to pop. I’m pretty confident this will bloom in the next couple of days. You should be good!! Enjoy!

Agreed that these are days out at most. That’s a lacunosa, they smell very pretty.

Even if you do, lacunosa like to bloom. It won’t be too long until you get some more

These are definitely going to bloom before you go away!! I find Lacunosa is very, very fast to open peduncles when they look like this. Some other Hoyas like to take their time a bit more, but Lacunosa is very quick.

My Lacunosa is in bloom right now on its second peduncle and already working on more blooms on its first peduncle.

I could be wrong but she looks like a krohniana splash to me, krohniana have fuzzy sweet smelling blooms, maybe you’ll get interestingly fuzzy blooms if she is a krohniana… Either way congratulations on getting blooms always a treat and you’ll be here to experience them in person they’re about to pop in the next few days!
