Long story short, I'm so proud of myself for growing this pineapple from a previous pineapple. It's taken over 3 years but look at her go. She's almost the size of my hand. I'm not exactly sure when's the right time to pick them. Is this something anyone has experience with? Should I wait for it to get bigger? Previously I left the last pineapple on too long and it rotted. I don't want that to happen as I want to enjoy this one. Any advice is appreciated!!

As far as I know you have to wait until it’s fully ripen. Pineapple can’t ripen after harvesting. So I would wait until it’s yellow/golden

Needs a while longer. It should be a golden color.

    This is adorable 🥰
Where do you find a pineapple plant to
    Grow?

Interestingly enough I had made some research in pineapples this morning. It’d would be ripe when the skin becomes green and yellow. If it turns brown then that’s a sign it started to go bad.

    Congrats for your baby pineapple!

Holy crappie that’s amazing! Which part of the pineapple did you plant?

Nope. Let it get yellow and pluck when it smells heavily of pineapple. That’ll get you the best result.

how is that, did you grow it indoor?

As others have said, wait until it is golden in color. It should also smell sweet. You’ve got a few weeks left I would estimate.

Source: my friend grows pineapples indoors and I have seen a few go through the growth and ripening process
