Hey guys! I’ve heard this is common in var billies so i’m trying not to stress but i cant help but ask reddit. Is this guy reverting? I didn’t pay too much for it and i learned a lot about tissue culture so i wouldnt be devastated but to be honest i just really hope it doesn’t revert! All the leaves before and especially the leaf right before were super variegated so i was surprised by the sudden shift to 0 variegation. Hopefully the guy comes back to normal soon but I’m also prepared to chop back if i have to if the next few leaves are still very green! If you have any experience or advice let me know! Thank you so much 🙂
1st photo- new leaf
2nd photo- leaf before
3rd photo- previous leaves
4th photo- baby leaves
Also totally forgot to mention, my care for it!
Its root system isn’t big enough to size up pots yet but i will when it’s necessary! He gets watered pretty much weekly, with fish tank water with added fertilizer and silicon. He’s about an inch away from a south facing window and there’s a big plant light right above it! I’ll include a photo of the window sill in the comments! No sign of pests or anything, the guys seemingly healthy, just greener!

I’m not very educated in this plant specifically, but I know most variegated plants revert without optimal lighting! Make sure it has good light and best of luck!!

If it is a tissue culture one, then yea, this is super, super common. It’s why I haven’t bought on. Props cost too much and TC reverts more than it stays stable with variegation.
impossible to know anything 100% with 1 leaf. I have a couple TC’s that have thrown out a beautiful leaf after a solid green one.. I’ve got others that the 1st solid leaf was the 1st leaf of the plant losing all variegation.

Unfortunately this is the gamble aspect of the hobby. Not every variegated plant acquired will stay variegated. From experience it’s better to get a prop from a mother with great genetics. Even then the props have a high chance of going full albo
One leaf… doing throw it out yet. You can always cut it back. But I’d wait 2-3 more leaves
