Recently bought a house in town that the previous owner had an above ground pool in the backyard. Under, around it he had about a 20 square foot area of sand. It is anywhere between 1 to 3 inches deep. Just using a shovel seems would take way to long. Short of using a front loader or small tractor, I can not think of any other ways to remove the sand. Any ideas or suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Edit; not looking to turn it into a beach area. Too many stray cats in the area. Would be constantly cleaning it.

Since you own the home and can play the long game, I’d amend the sand instead of removing the sand.

Cover it in grass clippings. Get them from your friends too. Get 3 yards of compost and dump it on top. Let it sit for a year. Mix it together. Boom, instant top soil.

I’d turn that into a feature. Add beach umbrellas and chairs to start.

Beach! You’re already halfway there. Chairs, palms, tiki torches, fire pit, grill, above ground pool.
