I’ve noticed that a lot of the stems(?) are growing new shoots that are going sideways? This is my first string of tears and just wanted to make sure this is normal! Will they drop as they get longer?

My string of bananas do this too. I think it’s just happy so it’s branching out with new growth. They’ll hang as they get longer and your plant will look fuller.
Mine does this as well! They do eventually drop once they get too heavy to stay sideways
