I recieved this lovely plant as a gift and I don't want to kill it.

Can someone let me know what type of plant it is as well as how to care for it?

Thank you ❤️

It’s a jade plant. I will let you know when I stop killing it. Well drained soil. Sun. Let it dry out between watering. I tend to over water mine.

Jade plants are pretty easy to care for and can live a very long time. My aunt had one for decades that’s still kicking around somewhere.

Biggest risks are probably overwatering and not enough light. It’s a succulent and succulents thrive with “benign neglect” as Martha Stewart says. So basically put it somewhere very sunny and don’t water it often and only when the soil is super dry.

Edit: Also don’t be alarmed if it starts to look like a tree with a trunk and bark. It’s supposed to do that.
