I am looking into putting a barn on my property. Currently do not have livestock and I’m trying to build infrastructure before I get the livestock. Looking at something like this with a run coming off each side. 1 side for goats and pigs and the other for a couple of cows.
My question is prebuilt (like the one pictured priced starting $15k and the doors on the side would be extra) or build it out myself?
What experiences do you have with either or both?
ETA: The one pictured is 20×36 and thats roughly the size I’m shooting for.
TIA team!

Welp, how much experience do you have building barns?
Is the prefab barn actually prefab? Will they install it, or is it a giant IKEA kit that you still need to put together?
In most climates, livestock do not need a barn. The barn is for your convenience and comfort when you’re working with them. (I’m assuming you’re not planning on dairy). For the small animals, just put a lean-to in their pasture. With cattle, not even that., just a few roundbales as a windbreak.
Self built is always cheaper to save on labor. Scrounging on supplies will save on material. Anesthetics is going to cost more. Your rural EMC sells old power poles, and steel ag trusses are very cheap.
