As an avid fan of the affordable and timeless Zara Home collection, on hearing the news that they had recently launched their first garden collection, I was certain it would be bursting with gems.

The new garden collection hasn’t disappointed. From useful garden tools like scissors, scoops, and rakes, to tasteful notebooks and elegant steel watering cans, stylish gardeners will no doubt be impressed by this debut.

Discover what made it into our editors’ baskets to upgrade our gardening kit now that spring has arrived. And hurry, we doubt they’ll be in stock for long.

Is it possible for a gardener to have too many gardening gloves? I think these will soon become my favourite pair. I really adore the suede back, and the 100% cow leather composition will make them durable.

Large garden shovel

Very smartly designed, this large garden shovel has a strong ash wood D-shaped grip handle, and the blade is steel, so it will slice through the earth to help you dig efficiently.

Steel watering can

This watering can is dreamy for a balcony or small garden, or for watering your containers. It’s 25cm high and boasts a gleaming enamel finish and lovely decorative details. It also comes in mint and cream.

Pear self-watering garden bubble

If you’re going to be away for any length of time, these self-watering bubbles are a sensible investment for caring for your houseplants, and this pear-shaped borosilicate design is very pretty too. Simply fill it with cold water, insert it in the soil near the plant’s roots, and your plant will be hydrated for two weeks.

Garden scissors

These essential garden scissors have pointed blades so you can get a clean and precise cut and a smart beech wood handle. There is a secure locking system for safe storage when they are not in use, too.

Iron garden basket

Now this is incredibly practical, and a perfect alternative to a bulky gardening bag. The lightweight metal mesh makes it a doddle to carry around the garden with all your essentials, and it has four legs for stability on all terrains.

Garden notebook

For keeping track of your garden tasks, plants, and garden conditions, this notebook has handy grid pages and tape page markers.

Ceramic garden pot

For container gardening, the pot collection from Zara Home is delightful. With a cream enamel finish, it has a small drainage hole and is therefore ideal for herbs.

Garden cutting shears

For harvesting your herb garden, a pair of sharp cutting shears is a must for snipping mint and slicing chives. This iron pair has a pincer movement for control.

Steel garden sprayer

If you’re caring for houseplants like a fiddle leaf fig, a plant mister is a necessity for hydrating large leaves without overwhelming your plants.

Garden rake

Surely one of the hardest-working tools in the garden when spring arrives, raking soil before seed sowing, tidying the lawn, be sure to invest in a good one. This model has a steel head and a lovely beech wood handle.

Beetroot scented candle

The earthiness of beetroot is one of my all-time favourites, and the ceramic jar that this heavenly-scented candle comes in is exquisite. The candle itself has top notes of rhubarb, violet leaf, ginger, pepper and base notes of caramelised sugar, cedar wood, earthy accord, and musk.

As you start tackling your gardening jobs this month, you may reveal gaps in your gardening kit and need to make a new purchase. Whether it be a pair of lawn shears from Amazon or a new set of secateurs, make sure you have everything you need to tend to your garden this spring and make all the must-do tasks effortless.
