What’s is this and how do I address it

I picked this up last week from a big box store in hopes of saving it. It did not have these white/black spots when I picked it up and noticed this yesterday. They don't look like mealy bugs, more like mold or spores. It only seems to be on the dying parts of the plant as well. I'm wondering if it may be from a lack of air circulation.

It's under a 20w Sansi light and getting about 16 hours of light. Water is always refilled when it's low or used up. Also did not mention that it is still in the small pot it came in. I wanted to let it get acclimated to my lights indoors before repotting to eventually move outside.
