I have tried letting the soil dry out (not watering much at all) and removed most of the dead foliage but it’s still not doing well. The soil still doesn’t look great.
I don’t think light is an issue as it was previously super happy in this spot.
What can I do? Change out soil completely? Peroxide rinse?

Repot! You probably lost some roots there- remove the rot and it might recover! I suggest a repot after overwatering over “waiting for it to dry out” because every day sitting in water increases the risk of it rotting
