I made a comment on another post of edging here about 90° vs 60° edge, couple folks were looking for visual explanation. I didn't get to take a final picture after fresh mulch at the end cause I was running around keeping the crew going. I'm always the guy to do the edging on my crew so I took a couple pictures. Basically what my comment was saying is that the 60° edge is what you see when you stand back vs the 90° edge straight down isnt as visible when you stand back & after mulch.

  1. I saw the comment earlier and now I’m going to redo all of my edges this weekend 🤣

I bet this helps with not having to re-edge as often and to keep the mulch from settling up against the edge but without the pic of fresh mulch I can’t tell if I like it 😅

You have a great edger. I have never done an edge like that.

Man what an edgelord… in the best way possible

But in this scenario you are not supposed to use plastic edging? Hard to put the edging to 60°, right?

I have a lot of edging to do in the coming days. How deep are we edging?

Really want to see the head of that, i have a long handble half moon edger but never liked it. I always use the shorty but my back dosnt like it. Im also a 90° edger, so maybe the tool is better for that style.

Is that a regular half moon edger on that thang?

I need to see your protractor. That looks closer to a 49° angle. *maybe* 53°.

Thanks for doing this. Saw the other post (which was all very helpful).

THANK YOU!!! I have been thinking about this since the post and couldn’t figure out what exactly it meant

It looks good! How were you able to keep it so straight with so many rocks?

Are you tossing all the grass right into the bed? So it’s all just going to grow there anyways? Or will you rake it out?

Also interested in seeing the final product 🙂

A large part of my turf sits just a bit lower than the flower bed due to drainage issues. Does the edging need to be a certain distance from the main flower bed or is that even a factor? Also, about how deep is your edge?

  15. Ha! You were the reason I fixed the edges in my yard today! Thanks for the tip!!
