Spirit of the Woods Garden Club, Inc. held its first meeting of 2026 on April 13. After report outs from committee chairs, garden club president Victoria Johnson led some group activities for attendees to get to know each other better.
The next meeting will be held at noon on May 11, at Oak Grove Hospitality Center, 309 W. Parkdale.
Alexis De Gabriele will be the guest speaker. She is an aquatic biologist for the Little River Band of Ottawa Indians. She manages the tribe’s manoomin, or wild rice, program. De Gabriele will speak on restoration and monitoring efforts of wild rice beds.
