North Saanich garden concert to host afternoon of music and treats

A spring concert blending classical, jazz and Broadway favourites is set to take place in North Saanich just in time for Mother’s Day.

Music in the Garden will feature performers Sunny Shams, Diane Pancel and Ashley Wey on Saturday, May 9, from 2 to 4 p.m. at 377 Wain Rd.

The event will open with a performance by Isaiah Smith, a graduate of the Berklee College of Music in Boston, on electric bass.

Organizers say the afternoon aims to offer a relaxed garden atmosphere while celebrating the Mother’s Day weekend.

Food and beverages will also be available, with Baloo Bear Bakery providing sweet and savoury treats, and Kaine offering sparkling Invinity wines.

Tickets are $30 and can be purchased by emailing thenoblegarden1@gmail.com or at Russell Nursery, 1370 Wain Rd. Proceeds from the event will support local performers, the Noble Garden and the broader community.
