I got this Northern Lights calathea about 5 days ago and she was super big and strong! However, yesterday I noticed that her soil was getting dry and the leaves were curling, so I put her on my priority watering list for the next day. Fast forward to today and BAM – her leaves are super curled and she’s extremely droopy 😔 I should’ve watered her the moment I noticed the dry soil, but she was honestly doing so well before deteriorating in a snap.

So my question to you all is: is it possible to resurrect her? What do I need to do over the next few days/weeks to help her recover?

I’ve never had a plant that thrives in humidity before so I’m not sure how to go about providing that. I moved her to the bathroom today but it’s such a small space with minimal lighting. I could buy a humidifier, but since she’s my only humidity-loving plant, is there another way? Also, how much light does she actually need? I was told intense indirect light, so I had her hanging out with my other plants under lights for about 10hrs a day. Is that too much? Am I torturing her??

Please send all your advice – I don’t want to give up on her 🥺

I also experienced that, unfortunately I lost a lot of leaves, but they will regrow again, itll just take time to bounce back

1st water, put it on high priority for a humidifier and then wait, water when top two inches feels dry. and also keep it on bright indirect light because it might just rot if there is little light

    FIGHTING!

  2. Few questions- Did you repot her after buying? Also, Calathea need humidity to be happy! Do you have humidifier nearby?
