If you have a small garden, its easy to think you can’t do much with it. But with careful planning even small gardens can be beautiful!. In this video I show you a simple design trick that works if all you have is a patio sized space.
First of all, if your garden is mostly hard surface, I recommend pressure washing the area. This instantly makes a difference and makes it safer to walk on. Sometimes it can look like a new patio even by giving it a good clean.
Then I construct a set of softwood planters, painting them a subtle neutral colour to show of the plants. These will become the ‘walls’ of my garden room and by putting them on casters I can change the look of my new garden whenever I want. I then plant one of them with stunning spring colours.

I agree completely with fewer larger containers than many small ones.
I've literally just finished painting my wooden tubs with cheap wood stain… Wish I'd seen this video and that paint brand a week ago! 😂
Hello Alan🖐How am I.🤗
I’m concerned about the paint leeching into the plants. And how about the planters that might contain herbs or an edible seed/fruit? Sometimes they are in the same container.
