I have been growing two Nepenthes rajah for a little over a year now. One of them, is frankly a weed compared to the general sense of their growth rate. The other, grown in identical conditions, perhaps 9" from the first, has not changed in a year. I decided to take a closer look at it today, clean up some dead leaves and check its media, and I could hardly find any media in its ball of roots.
The plant has maybe produced 4 leaves in the last year, non have produced any form of size increase. However, its roots were nearly 1.5' long. About half separated when I removed it from the pot, but the remainder are still something like 10" (Reese's for scale). I know rajah are known to have large roots for a nepenthes, but this was insane.
Does anyone have ideas on how to switch this thing from root growth to leaf growth?
