I’ve had my FLF for about 2 years. I will admit, year 1 it was in bad conditions (not good drainage, not a ton of light) and was slowly losing its leaves. The remaining leaves still looked green and healthy. Year 2 I moved it into a better draining pot, and also moved it in front of a bright and large window. It hasn’t lost a single leaf since, so must be happier.

That being said, it’s been 2 years and it hasn’t pushed out a single new leaf this whole time. The old leaves still looked green healthy, but no new growth at all. I even got it a grow light 1-2 months ago but nothing. Today I peeled back the dry crispy brown “sheath” of the apical node and this is what it looks like underneath. Is it dead? Should I pinch/prune it? Or leave it for a while longer?

It’s going to be a leaf! Let it be. You’ve made all wonderful changes and now your fig will grow.
