The Violet Barn has been my go-to, everything is always carefully packaged and the customer service is very responsive. They have so many absolute stunners

My local African Violet club has a yearly sale which is awesome. I have also traded with a local person.

The “cool looking violets” are usually African Violets that are named varieties! The brand at Lowe’s supplies maybe 10-12 different NOIDs. Sometimes you’ll be able to find really unusual NOIDs from local nurseries.
I’ve gotten violets from Lyndon Lyon, the Violet Barn, Ebay, Etsy, etc. Sometimes local plant shops will have named varieties as well. Not to mention there are other gesneriads similar to African Violets out there!!

You’d be surprised how well African violets and leaf cuttings can fare by mail! Even with shipping that takes several days, I’ve never had any casualties with receiving whole plants or just cuttings.
(Tip for ordering cuttings: when you receive them, cut off the calloused end and place it cut-side down in some water to soak for a bit before putting them in some perlite or something for propagation! They’re usually a little limp by the time you get them)
