A man in his 20s is in hospital after being stabbed by two men in the beer garden of a Sudbury pub.
Emergency services were called to the White Horse pub on North Street in the Suffolk town at 11.50pm on Saturday following reports of an injured man outside the property. Police said it is believed the victim had been assaulted shortly beforehand in the beer garden of the Comfortable Cow pub on nearby King Street.
Two men, both wearing face coverings and carrying a “bladed weapon”, attacked the victim, who sustained a single stab wound to his arm, Suffolk Police said. The man then ran from the scene, with the suspects following him along King Street, before turning right from the pub. The victim was rushed to hospital, where he remains in a stable condition.
The first suspect is described as being at least 5ft 6in tall, of slim build, and wearing a black Adidas-style hooded top and a balaclava. The second is described as under 5ft 6in, also of slim build, wearing black clothing and a balaclava.
Officers are treating the assault as a “targeted incident” and believe those involved were known to each other. Police are reviewing CCTV and carrying out other enquiries in the area.
Anyone who witnessed the incident or has information, CCTV, doorbell camera or dashcam footage is asked to contact Suffolk Police on 101 or via the force’s website, quoting reference 37/22007/26.
