47:24 your body changes every 7yrs. I was “allergic” to garlic for a while, then ketchup, now I’m “allergic” to eggs. 🤷🏼♀️ It’s so weird to go through…
Its one thing to play in mud . Its another thing to get cuts and scrapes !!!!! But those open wounds get infected!!!!!!!!! It can be Very Bad if the cut doesnt get uninfected !!!!!!
Would love to know what Paul does with those pallets! He seems to be so resourceful so I’m sure he has great ways to use them. Would it be possible for you to inquire and let us know?
Laura, is your birthday on the 20th? Mine is also. But I'm much, much, much older than you (88 years old). So Happy, Happy Birthday to You!! Oh, how I wish I was your age.
In the formal flower garden, you could try and play with flowers in patterns to create an image. One of the places I went on summer holidays, called Jesperhus, had a flower park where they arranged several displays of flowers with images from famous fairy tales from Hans Christian Andersen, since I live in Denmark. It is such a core memory for me and one of the reasons why I love flowers so much.
In the UK, you can get allergy tested for egg. You have a RAST blood test to check for IgE sensitivity and if positive, you can be desensitised to the protein in eggs. However, you are never fully cured but you can hopefully tolerate some egg, which ultimately helps to prevent Anaphylaxis. Children complete The Egg Ladder now which is a structured, step-by-step method used to gradually reintroduce egg into a child’s diet to build tolerance for those with mild-to-moderate egg allergies. It moves from heavily baked egg (e.g., cakes, as the egg protein changes when cooked, making it easier to tolerate) to lightly cooked (e.g., scrambled) and finally raw egg (mayonnaise, mousse).
Key Stages of the Egg Ladder (General Guide under medical supervision) Step 1 (Bottom): Thoroughly baked egg mixed with flour (e.g., muffins, fairy cakes, sponge cakes). Step 2: Less baked/cooked egg (e.g., pancakes, waffles, Yorkshire puddings). Step 3: Lightly cooked or mixed egg (e.g., egg fried rice, breaded fish). Step 4: Firmly cooked egg (e.g., scrambled eggs, omelette, frittata). Step 5 (Top): Undercooked or raw egg (e.g., mayonnaise, meringue, mousse). NHS Foundation Trust University Hospitals: How to Use the Ladder Start Slowly: Begin with a pea-sized amount, then increase to 1 tsp, then 1 tbsp, over several days, provided there is no reaction. Regular Consumption: If a step is tolerated, include it regularly in the diet while moving to the next step. Reaction: If a reaction occurs, go back to the previously tolerated step for a few weeks before trying again. Slow Progress: It can take weeks or months to move up the ladder.
Laura – can you share your vision for the Formal Flower Garden? I love the transformation over the past two seasons – and it would be fun to have a preview into what you are imagining for the next several seasons – the long game.
You are spot on with the Virginia Creeper!!!! Atlanta, it is everywhere. It would take me spraying constantly to get rid of it. So just pull where needed. It actually smells pretty. Mine does tend to stay on the ground and does not smother my plants like Kudzu.
Oh I would love to see a “secret” pallet walkway somewhere. The one you had before just made that space so magical somehow. All of your spaces are so incredible. ❤️
Always love recaps on Sunday. Just sit back and relax and remember everything you guy’s did this week. So enjoyable. Thanks again for sharing this with us. Appreciated. 💯💯💯🇨🇦🇨🇦🇨🇦
In the Boise area – I lost my lollipop crabapple blossoms in that freeze! They’re now looking like golden crabapples! Well, God willing, there’s next year. I have loved all the stormy weather this spring. Nice to have the moisture. Your gardens and lawns are glorious! Thanks for all you guys do to inspire us!
I would imagine planting such a lot of boxwoods- while lovely – creates such a monoculture that once the mites become resistant, and they will, the potential for garden devastation is huge.
Lamium is in the Dead-nettles family, (it is not a stinging nettle -look it up, if interested) Lamium looks very much like Hen Bit that is also in the same family. Hen Bit is a weed and not near as nice, nor does it grow in nice bunches like a Lamium.
Would you ever get a turtle for the pond? I bet the kids would love that! You could collaborate with somebody on YouTube like Garden State Tortoise or Dan the Turtle Man if they’re willing to travel!
I wanted to comment that I absolutely love my Mesto water sprayer. I have been using it all winter on my seedlings before bottom watering and spot hitting dry places on top. This and the liquid fertilizer for seedlings is such a game changer for me. Ask for one for Mother's day!
For like 1-2 years I would run into grubs in my soil and didn’t know what they were back then and never cared to look them up. Then all my plants would slowly die or not do well and got curious to look them up. 🙃🙃🙃 I’ve gone through most areas in my garden this winter and spring and dug up the grubs and killed them. Luckily I have a small garden space. Everything seems to be thriving for now 😊

Monkey bars vs Arbor – no big difference, especially for a kid. I would have climbed it when I was a kid.
I would love to see a tour of a Proven Winners facility and see how they experiment with breeding different varieties and create new things!
Ooooo – vinca on the hillside on the north end – where you might not care that it goes wild
Some people who cant tolerated chicken eggs can eat duck eggs just fine. Might try it.

Do you still have the tree with the "face?"

Happy Birthday, Laura 💐 🌷 🥀 🌹 I remember since mine was the 16 th.

The bonide copper fungicide takes care of rust 👍

Happy Belated Birthday Laura!
Deadnettle is the awful weed that looks like Lamium. It's scientific name is lamium amplexicaule.
Has Aaron ever tried duck eggs? Some people can tolerate them when they can’t tolerate chicken eggs.
Aaron, check your Gallbladder. I had serious gut pain after eating eggs and it turned out my gallbladder needed to come out. No issues since.

My Chitalpa has started to set blooms in NW Oklahoma!
You were thinking Henbit (Lamium amplexicaule), which is in the same family as the ground cover you planted. It's edible and has medicinal uses.
