Hi there everyone. I've had this Violet in this pot for probably 4 years now without changing soil or anything. I just water it once a week, from the base, sometimes twice if it seems light, and deadhead the blooms as needed. It is currently in a west facing window with a lot of afternoon sun. It has been blooming consistently since last summer with no breaks.

As you can see in the photos, some of the leaves look yellowish, and some even appear almost burned by the sun. The burn spots are new. They showed up in the past few days.

From what I found online, the suggestion is to repot when not blooming, but that hasn't happened!

Thanks for any tips you have! My mom gave me this plant and I love it. I want to keep it healthy and happy. 😊

  1. That plant has grown extra crowns. There should only be one crown per pot. Definitely repot and split

Looks like multiple plants in there. Maybe repot and see if you can separate them. Should make them happier. Do you fertilize?

Overwatering and compaction can cause what you’re seeing in the roots.

Let the plant dry, separate the crowns and then fertilize it a little bit next time you water it
