


My neighbour has this plant growing at the back of her garden and she's worried it might be poison hemlock. She wants it removed regardless but needs to know what precautions to take (if any).
The stems are completely smooth, and a little shiny.
There are a lot of plants that *look* like poison hemlock like Cow Parsley, Wild Carrot, Fennel, Yarrow, etc (all from the same carrot family) but better be safe than sorry.
Any help would be appreciated!

Looks like osmorhiza claytonii. “Sweet Cicely” if it smells like anise when the leaves are crushed.
It looks like Hemlock
