So my mom lives in the middle of nowhere and I came to visit and she asked me to check on her wild chicken that appear out of nowhere with like 5 others and 2 are still around and one has been staying in a insulated dog house. We'll there is about 3 dozen eggs under her and I checked if they were fertile and after the first 10 were I assume they all are. I just heard a rooster out in the woods somewhere so I have no idea what kind he is but she is black and doesn't cluck much. One of the eggs looks like a full chick inside and my mom wants to know what she needs to do she loves her yard chickens. Dont let the photo fool you that whole corner is full of eggs.

If she doesn’t want them to turn into fox food eventually, then she needs to fence them in, at least at night time anyway. Provide fresh water daily, and buy some feed.

Sometimes when a mom is sitting on that many eggs she will ignore the first couple that hatch. You

might have to take care of them yourself. Make sure they are getting some feed and water and keep them

warm. I can’t imagine she will hatch out near 3 dozen, but she may try, so at some point taking away the

unhatched eggs is advisable so she will focus on the hatchlings.
