Hi! This is my first reptile ive owned and I'm currently trying to fit her thermostat but can't seem to work out where the probe needs to be. I'm unsure whether it's okay to have it outside the enclosure as I don't see any opportunities to have it inside as the wire is too big for any gaps the viv has. Any help would be appreciated! I'm also second guessing if the heat mat is in the correct place. Again any help is appreciated!

Do not use that on the glass, heat mats are not recommended, especially for arboreal species. If your house is normal indoor temps they do not need a heat source. That heat mat is only going to heat the glass and nothing else. It will not heat the air at all.

So I will say, heat mat is not recommended for the crested geckos because it will just heat the glass where you put it and hurt their feet when they stand there; most of the time you don’t really need a heater unless you live somewhere where it gets pretty cold. I am glad you got a thermostat though, since that is necessary for heat sources – for putting the probe in, I’m not sure if there are gaps to put wires through in those or if you have to kinda jam it in the door, I don’t own that specific enclosure so maybe someone else knows. Other than that, ur foliage cover in the tank looks good! Just make sure the gecko has solid horizontal/vertical climbing opportunities in the middle with sticks or something like that

This is absolutely unnecessary and functionally worthless.
