i got perm banned from the hoya sub when they got new mods a while back, then they muted me when i asked why, then they immediately lifted the perm ban for some reason so i asked one of the new mods what happened, they said they’d look into it then came back and said several months earlier i had been “rude and aggressive” with someone.
i went through every post and comment i made on that sub and it was 100% me posting hoya pictures and helping people who had ID and care questions. there was nothing even remotely approaching rude or aggressive. i mean come on it’s a hoya sub i’m not going around telling people to F themselves on a hoya sub LOL
to this day i’m really hesitant to participate there. i’d love to know what happened though.

It’s almost certainly cause you used a “him” pronoun to refer to the plant. “It” wouldn’t have gotten flagged in all likelihood.

I also got a nonsense warning for threatening violence within the last couple days (appealed successfully, at least). Reddit must have ramped up the sensitivity on whatever admin-bots they use.
Anyway, go stake-free. We must release our plants from their cruel bondage. They deserve to be able to frolic. /s
