I have a local tea/water store… refills are $2.50 for 5 gallons…. But long term your own RO system might be th way to go.

So we use a reverse osmosis purifier. We also use only rain water. It rains enough here we collect our rain and its all we drink and its all my plants, cats, terrariums, and invertebrates get as well.
In case anyone is curious…5 humans, 5 cats, and too many plants, terrariums, and invertebrates.

If you don’t want to go through the hassle of installing an under counter RO system get a Culligan Zero Water container. They have various sizes depending on your needs and they are cheaper than an installed system.

I got a 5g water jug from Lowe’s for $8 and refill it at one of those Primo water refill stations at the grocery store for $3 every few months

some aquarium stores sell it by the gallon for pretty cheap, you can just bring your own vessel for them to fill.

Local pet stores may have a tap flr RO and salt water and it is usually pretty cheap, ours is 50 cents a gallon.

Grocery stores have them for like $1.50 a gallon. I don’t know if that’s a lot added up over time for others but for me it’s pretty affordable.

Bluevua makes reverse osmosis water filters the size of large coffee makers that sit on your countertop. You fill up the back with water, it goes through a reverse osmosis filter and then you have a pitcher of water. Each run of a pitcher of water takes about 3 minutes and its pretty easy.

I order 19L jugs and have them delivered to my house ($8/jug this way, but worth it to me)

I buy “baby water” because it’s 11 cents cheaper than “distilled water”
