Following two years of phenomenal success and the rising demand for urban gardening spaces, Feebee Foran of Forager.ie and Bohernabreena Allotments are thrilled to announce the launch of GrowAllot ’26 this week.

This grassroots initiative is once again, giving 10 lucky individuals the opportunity to skip the standard 4-year waiting list for allotments in Dublin and secure their own growing space for the 2026 season.
“This is one of the most important years for us with people really invested in becoming more self-sufficient and learning where their food comes from, particularly at a time when we are importing 90pc of our food.
“This programme empowers people to grow their own, while giving them the tools and the know-how to put food on the table,” said Jimmy Phibbs, owner of Bohernabreena Allotments.
Situated in the beautiful surroundings of the Bohernabreena Allotments in the Dublin Mountains, the GrowAllot ’26 programme provides 10 winning growers with a 1m x 3m allotment bed.
This year’s winners include Rachael Medbury (Knocklyon), Niamh Harkness (Rathfarnham), Vanessa O’Neill (Rathcoole), David Walsh (Tallaght), Luke Duffy (Tallaght), Kelly Tyrrell Farrell (Tallaght), Michael Giblin (Knocklyon), Gillian Coleman (Tallaght), Rachel Clinton (Tallaght), Nicole O’Sullivan (Tallaght).
Reconnecting People with Food and Nature
The GrowAllot project is a true collaboration aimed at reconnecting people with nature, mentoring them in growing their own food, and fostering community spirit. The initiative has garnered strong support from agricultural partners, including key sponsor Tirlán, Clover Grow, Ollys Farm, Chef Conor Spacey and the generous support of Jimmy Phibbs, owner of Bohernabreena Allotments.
“The waiting list for allotments in Dublin is up to 4 years,”; says Feebee Foran, founder of Forager.ie. “With GrowAllot ’26, our goal is to empower people, regardless of their gardening experience, to get their hands in the soil, seeds in the ground and to really feel the benefits of the outdoors. Over the past two successful years of the GrowAllot programme, our past winners have reported a marked shift in their mental health, noting that they find peace, clarity and community when working with the soil.”
Mentorship and Skill-Sharing
Beyond just providing land, GrowAllot ’26 focuses on education. Throughout the season, Feebee, Jimmy and the GrowAllot team will mentor the growers, providing invaluable hands-on training, from sowing to harvesting.
Sponsors Tirlán have generously provided our growers with vital tools, seeds, seedlings and plant food, while Clover Grow have donated 2 tonnes of compost. Over the coming months, you can get involved and follow the Tirlan sponsored GrowAllot Grow-along on social media at @forager.ie where you can start growing your own food from scratch.

The 2026 season kicks off with a grand launch on Sunday April 19 where winners will
receive their first access to the allotment space.
