New to this sub, I’ve got my cactus for a few years now, this big boy fell from a window after a strong wind and a few days later, it looks like this. The « rotten part » is hard as hell
He need more light. You can cut the rotten part away. Check if the roots are o.k . In cold conditions with little light he need little water and a good drainage. It is a strong plant you should get it grow again.

Light changes must be made gradually for it to acclimate. If you just go set it outside in full sun for a day it will get sun burn. That’s not an acceptable soil mix for a cactus either. Should have porous inorganic such as pumice, lava, scoria, expanded shale, or hard fired porous clay products mixed in.
