LAWTON, Okla. (KSWO) – The Home and Garden Show opened Friday at the Great Plains Coliseum and runs through Sunday.

Organizers say this year marks 60 years of showcasing craftsmanship, innovation and community. The event offers ideas and expert advice for those planning a remodel.

The event also helps support the community, Tonya Dawson, President of the Southwest Oklahoma Home builders Association said.

“What we do is we take this money and put it back in the community in different ways,” said Tonya Dawson, president of the Southwest Oklahoma Home Builders Association. “We may donate to coats for kids; we may donate to Great Plains area technical school. Just different things that come up. A lot of that money will go back into the community and it helps to educate our builders.”
