I live next to an under developed public park the city is against development i tried talking to them about it they dont want to listen i was thinking of gorilla gardening a few fruit trees but the funds are just never there
This is such great advice! Thank you! Here in Florida (near the coast) I’ve been told to grow blueberries in pots or grow bags. I hope to find more kinds of fruit to grow.
Maybe I'll put a fig tree out front. I have 9 planted and another 10 or so in pots. Someone in my neighborhood has one in the front and I already have two kinds of mulberry and three Barbados cherry shrubs with no noise from the HOA. They might catch on at some point, lol.
I couldn't live in an hoa. I just couldn't. I work on my own car on my dead end road & wash my car on the street. I have tons of fruit trees too. Id be kicked out in 2 seconds lol. I don't make lots of noise but i can't afford bringing my car to a shop so i do my own jobs. Brakes, oil changes & more.

I have watch you for a couple of years even though I am in zone 6. I have often heard you say you live in eastern NC. We have taken vacations at Atlantic Beach, Emerald Isle and Indian Beach not every year but many since about 1995. Headed the Smoky Mountains this summer
I went with Autumn Brilliance Serviceberry, and Goumi berry bushes, which I feel are a lot better options.

I don’t have an HOA but I do have a husband who has restricted my gardening to back yard only. But what he doesn’t recognize won’t hurt him & forgiveness is an easier get than permission so… lol. (j/k I would never really go behind his back to sneak in the odd “ornamental” pepper.)
