Hackelia virginiana (Virginia stickseed) looks very good when chopped for a year instead of letting it flower just so you people are aware.

    Its cute but its no hosta. Maybe skunk cabbage or trillium, foam flower, heuchera, wild ginger. Need large foliage

    LOL this is a native I basically do not tolerate. it’s an inhibitor of maintenance to have to stop and pull burs out of your socks for a half hour.

    ok not really as big and pretty as hostas lol but I have kept volunteers of these as groundcover too. I just pulled mine before their second year

    It’s wild reading how much people hate these, they’re rare as fuck in my neck of the woods and a big find when you see them. Especially Hackelia deflexa.

    I just got around to removing my hostas. I replaced them with a combo of white wood asters, wild columbine and lady ferns.
