I beheaded my Echeveria blue star about 26 days ago because it was too top heavy to stand upright. Since then, the trunk has become shriveled and dry. I dug it up to check for signs of rot but there were none (stem felt firm, roots weren't mushy). Is this something completely normal that I am overthinking?

So far in my own experience this is normal. And at least for me it’s a 50/50 toss up of what will happen once watered after it has calloused.

Based on what you said it sounds like it’s fine just maybe building up energy?

Have you watered it yet in the least 26 days? Are you giving it lots of light?
