We were on vacation for a week and we came back to find that our beloved Yucca tree was cut down! We are heartbroken because we loved the shade this tree provided and the lush green view from our rooftop. Would anybody in this community be able to help me determine what species of Yucca our tree was and the value of a mature Yucca tree of this size would be? My guess is its at least 40 feet tall as it was as tall as our house. THANK YOU in advance!

Info- was it on your property? If so this is a massive legal issue and you need to lawyer up and go after them ASAP, tree laws do not play around, there are massive penalties for this kind of thing, but if not then you shouldn’t be planting anything
Yes! 100% on our property. Confirmed this with a lot line inspector. There’s still a big hole where the stump was and it’s clearly on our side
Those things are rats nest
Your stoked it’s gone.
I would personally unhinge my jaw and devour them, but you might have other options,
What home is yours? Just curious how a tree company would willingly cut this down without confirming. I would call around companies if possible to see what company did this and what information was provided.
that tree looks like it was worth serious money and you need a lawyer yesterday because removing someone elses tree without permission is illegal in most places
People have to accept the risk when a tree is planted where its drip line will cross over a property line. Plant trees where when mature will not cross property lines
It wasn’t even leaning towards them! Fucking hell.
OP gonna get paid
Can you post pics of what it looks like now?
It may be a Spanish Dagger yucca
