Hi everyone,
my Echeveria agavoides has started growing in a strange way. The central stem seems to be elongating more than normal, with more space between the layers of leaves. What could be causing this?
It’s etiolation. The plant is not receiving enough light so you’ll want to get a grow light if it’s already in your sunniest window. You can also tell because the leaves are laying flat. They do that to increase surface area when they aren’t getting enough light.

Etiolating as it is an extremely light hungry plant. More light!
yea a lot of myths still persist about plant biology, i was surprised at how much proximal light echs need.
because aloe veras also grow in a stemless rosette, i decided to bring my aloe pups growlight down quite a bit. this is a 5w sansi LED clip. as she gets older i might upgrade to the 10w (:
