Getting ready to plant a few Peggy Martin’s along my fence line and I’m very excited.

Any tips for someone new to the world of roses? Specifically for managing roses with our temps and tricky soil here in Austin?

I just planted two Peggy Martins directly in soil about a month ago and they seem to be doing well. I used soil from HEB and mixed it in 50/50 with the rocky lime soil in SW Austin. I used Fox Farm Jump Start and Fox Farm Fruit and Flower. They seem to like both fertilizers. I was watering every 2-3 days at the start but now much less with all the rain we’ve been getting. They are in direct sun, but shaded in the morning and late afternoon by two oaks on each side. So far so good, I hope to get the same look shown in your photos.
