I mulch all my grow-bag vegetables with a thick layer of either EZ-Straw or Pine Shavings, both usually from Tractor Supply. This year I'm seeing a whole lot more live seeds sprouting in the straw than ever before. Been using both in this location over 5 years. Wondering if you have noticed the same thing in your garden. I'm in NE Texas.

Decent amount of wheatgrass popping up from the E-Z straw, yes. At least it’s easy to deal with. One thing you can do to help with this is leave a new bag out in the sun for a few days to cook all the seeds.
Holy cow. I thought I was the only one.
I switched to Straw Boss for the very reason you’re describing. I’ve been using it for two years, and I don’t think I’ll ever go back. I found it at Tractor Supply.
two of my garden beds are a wheat field already this year lol
I thought straw was supposed to be free of seeds. I thought it was hay that had seeds? Maybe I remembered that incorrectly
