Hey everyone, I have a customer of mine that asked me to redo their interlock stairs. I have never done this type of interlocking or on stairs so I was hoping somebody could help me understand the process for stairs within an interlock job.
Thank you in advance.

Well, for one thing, you won’t have to do a curve on the step, because it doesn’t match the top step. That top step matches the square column.. do a square step and the bottom will be square. No curves makes it easier for you and “ cleaner” for the client.
Start on the steps because that is where the eyes will be. Get them perfect, then back away from them. Any finish cuts will be furthest away from the house.
Only offer patterns that you are willing to do, don’t be afraid to back away from a job. Better to do a nice job than to leave a poor example of your work. Be honest with yourself and the customer. It’s going to be hard to estimate this job. If hardscaping is something you want to do, it might be okay to lose money on a job to keep a great client happy
