Gates, N.Y. (WHAM) — It’s time to kick off our weekly spring garden segment on ARC Rochester called “From the Ground Up.” We’ll partner with The Garden Factory once again this season to help you get growing.
The Garden Factory is going to supply 13WHAM with plants and garden supplies this season for our raised garden beds. They’ll also share plant information from some of their team experts to help out with any ‘Garden Gripes’ that we identify this season.
This week’s segment takes a look back at the history and growth of The Garden Factory, the Rochester area’s largest family-owned garden center, with co-owner Rick Martell.
We’ll take a look back at the humble beginning and the growth through the years to the business that you see now.
We’re also joined by Garden Factory general manager Marisa McTiernan who has some suggestions on rejuvenating the soil in your raised garden beds.
She’ll also show us some cold tolerant plants for those that want to get a head start on the growing season.
