Hey all!

This is my first year growing tomatoes, growing a beefsteak kind of tomato!

Grew these from seed and getting them ready to go outside within the next week or so, so I've been hardening them off gradually over the last couple weeks.

However a few on the leaves are browning and curling, as well as in some places going slightly yellow! I water them averagely every week and a bit, just depends on how dry the soil gets, they get currently around 3-4 hrs outside in dappled shade (so they do get some sun on them, but only little rays). They also haven't grown much recently as my peppers are rapidly catching up to them. Also last time I watered them, I used a very diluted fertiliser ( very very diluted).

Any pointers 🙂 thanks all!

Currently in the south of England.

Not sure if you are under watering, when mine were in similar sized cups and at that size I was watering 2x per week when they’re inside and 3x per week when they’re outside.

Mine get a little discoloration during hardening off, and they should be getting on a more regular fertiliser schedule with that size! Good luck 🙂

  2. They’ll be fine, they just got hit by the sun. New growth looks good.

So the lower leaves formed first under low light conditions. You can tell because the plants are a little leggy, which is fine but you are seeing a little damage from the hardening off process. When you plant these out you will want to remove the lower set or two of leaves and plant them deep, so they will be fine.

They’re ready for bigger dirt. If it’s a while before you can plant them you’ll wanna upgrade their pot size for the next few weeks.
