This 8" diameter branch fell out of a tree in a local park, narrowly missing a bunch of kids. I don't know what kind of tree we're talking about, but here is where it fell from. To my untrained eye, this sure looks like it was partially cut sometime in the past, and then just left there. Is it possible for a tree to just snap like this, leaving what looks like a straight cut, when in fact it's totally natural?
