The Iowa Economic Development Authority Board Friday will consider a Business Incentive for Growth or BIG application when the board meets Friday morning at 9:00 a.m. at the IEDA conference room in Des Moines. Edible Gardens is planning to be the occupant of the former Kenco and Natural Shrimp warehouse. The facility is expected to create 42 new high-quality jobs and invest an estimated $75 million dollars for the Webster City community producing locally grown, organic, sustainable produce and products. Edible Garden operates greenhouse and processing facilities in Michigan and New Jersey. The firm also partners with a network of contract growers located near major markets across the U.S to ensure freshness and reduce environmental impact. The IEDA board will consider other applications for projects in Des Moines, Mediapolis and Waterloo during the meeting
