

There are many mutated ferocactus within a few blocks of each other (park – open space areas in residential zone) that are crested, monstrose or both. I spied another yesterday and, while cool looking, it does seem to have that pups on pups look of witches broom.

Yeah that looks broom
After living in Tucson for a couple years I’ve noticed it’s really not that uncommon for these guys. I don’t believe it’s witches broom, just monstrose growth.
Likely mealy bug induced
