Some nice quality old tools I collected from council cleanups. Quality old steel, often forged. Decent straight grained handles from the green shed.
Cyclone and spear and Jackson still make some quality gear but it's not hard to run up a bill for several hundred dollars. This set cost about 100 in handles

Hard rubbish is a great source for tools if you aren’t in hurry. I have collected a fencing bar, axe, shovels, rakes etc.
Facebook marketplace is great for stuff if you need it soon.
Quality tools aren’t cheap. Free ones are often old and great quality.
