We want to make our patio a more private area and we are getting a hot tub. I'm trying to (poorly) mock up some ideas for this, and I'm wondering if this setup makes any sense.
From what I've read, the hot tub needs to be at least 5ft from a structure and preferably have at least 3ft of clearance on all sides. Otherwise, I'd try to tuck it into the 9×9 corner of the sun room.
The other element is that we'd really like to be able to see the kids in the yard while on the patio, but not be seen from the roads. My best idea for this is to have the two sections facing the roads as privacy fence and the front facing the yard semi-private. Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

Your proposed concrete shape and that tight fence line will make the hot tub feel like a holding pen. Do not build a small box around your new patio just to block the street. Square off that new concrete extension so it actually aligns with the architecture of your house instead of jutting out at a random angle. You want the tub close enough to the back door so you are not making a long freezing walk across the yard in the middle of winter.
Ditch the idea of wrapping a hard fence right up against the concrete. Push your privacy layer out toward the road. Cut a deep sweeping planting bed along those road sightlines and put in a staggered mass of tall evergreens. A solid green wall blocks the street view perfectly while leaving the yard side completely open so you can watch the kids. This gives your yard actual structure and connects the spaces naturally instead of just dropping a fenced box in the middle of the lawn.
