Now that Spring has sprung, the Castlebridge Show committee are providing all the encouragement that a budding green-fingered gardener would need to get out and get stuck into the soil, as they host a two-hour practical gardening demonstration and information at the community garden in the village.
The free event will take place on Saturday, April 18, starting at 10 a.m. and welcomes gardeners of all abilities, whether existing growers looking for additional knowledge or someone looking to start out in the world of vegetable growing; whether you have a small plot or simply a small container.
A number of experienced gardeners will be on hand to show you everything you need to do, such as getting the ground prepared, what vegetables to grow at this time of year and the best methods to ensure success. The demonstration will conclude with a question-and-answer session.
This is the first in a planned series of demonstrations being put together by the Castlebridge Show Committee aimed at encouraging people to get out there, get their hands dirty and enjoy growing their own fresh, organic vegetables.
