  1. I have 3 trays of lupin seeds ready to plant out this summer so will try the beer ( n hope my dog isnt a drinker๐Ÿ˜‚) hyped you xx

  2. I also bought and potted so
E dahlias from Aldi. I still had some from last year so now I have a couple dozen to plant out once I have the garden ready for planting.
I finally made a trip to one of the garden centers in my area, just to take a quick look at. I ended up buying my first tetrapanex. I was surprised to see they had two as the never have tropical plants. Itโ€™s a good foot tall and one inch thick trunk and somewhat woody. Going to keep it in a pot for the next year or two.

  3. The only crap with beer traps outside the greenhouse is it can attract & kill bees & ๐Ÿ waspโ€™s. I can say regarding slugs I donโ€™t use anything Iโ€™ve held back & the birds seem to fill up on them the only issue I ever have on lupins is aphids which are easily controlled with a bit of washing up liquid & water in a spray but rarely do that anymore as I leave a patch of stinging nettles which ladybirds ๐Ÿž lay eggs on and their larvae ๐Ÿ› eat the aphids so swings in roundabouts. Once you have a balance youโ€™re good. ๐Ÿ‘

  4. I've put landscape bark around all my new planting to suppress weeds and grass. I did hit some roots of surrounding plants when I did planting this weekend but they look to have taken it well

I have willow trellis for my clematis, don't even have to tie it, I just loop it around the trellis to encourage it to 'see' there is something to latch on to

  5. You should never hold seedlings by the stem when pricking out you will bruise the stem hold them by the leaves.
