I’m building a vivarium for emerald tree skinks and I can’t seem to find any decent options other then sillicone/coco fibre (don’t wanna use it because it doesn’t hold up long term, and makemake/buddy Rhodes as they cost insane amounts to ship to the uk.

I would use drylok and concrete stain.

I honestly wouldn’t use concrete on top of foam, if you wanted to use concrete or clay it’s better to use the pink panther project panels (the purple ones) to build the background instead (SerpaDesign has great videos showing how to do this method)

As for the foam you already have on there you’ll have to get drylock and Quikrete cement color, mix it together. Use black color first let it dry and then go over with brown or orange or whatever color you want the rocks to look like

Forgot to add but silicone with coco fiber tends to fall off in a few weeks, especially if you’re actively spraying the tank with water

  3. I have tree fern Fibre in silicone and it works very well. My next project will use more clay. Should not be hard to source clay. You can find kitty litter that is 100% clay that you can use.

Ive seen some people use sanded grout and paint it on in layers. Looks pretty good. Just have to find the kind that does not dry quickly as it has additives.

  5. Get more cork bark, break it up in different size pieces and cover the entire background with it.

Silicone, then add coco fibers on top before the silicone dries. It takes several layers. Once the first layer dries, add more silicone and fiber to sections where the coco fiber didn’t stick or fill in. It took me 5 layers, letting each dry overnight in between.
